Minimalism with a Twist

2025 will be the year when luxe minimalism takes center stage, gradually transforming the wedding scene. As Sunna Yassin and Mollie Jones Hennes, co-founders of Bash Please share, "Luxe minimalism is reshaping the wedding landscape, merging opulence with simplicity by focusing on high-quality materials and design while pairing down on excess. This trend emphasizes elegant, understated decor, where a few statement pieces or a single stunning floral arrangement take center stage rather than an abundance of decorations."

Nicole Amarise also envisions that 2025 will be defined by a refined, minimalist aesthetic. "I expect to see more couples embrace minimalism in their wedding setups, opting for simpler, more refined aesthetics, but still with intentional and experiential details," she says. "This minimalist approach will be balanced with a focus on intentional and experiential details, ensuring that every element, though understated, contributes meaningfully to the overall atmosphere and guest experience."

Dramatic Drapery

All eyes will be on table linens! “From deep velvets, soft linen blends to piped and ruffled edging. A surge of dramatic billowing table and chair linen will be seen far and wide. Adding effortless shape and movement to the traditional table setting,” points out Jessie Walters, one of the founders of Ruby & James design studio.

Captivating Venues

Finding the perfect venue is one of the most important steps in planning your dream wedding. More couples will be drawn to impactful venues in 2025. They explain: “Venues are selected for their inherent beauty and simplicity. This could mean choosing a chic, modern space with clean lines or a historic venue where the architecture speaks for itself. By minimizing the need for additional decor, more wedding investment can be allocated to creating high-quality guest experiences.”

35mm Film

There's something truly special about the raw honesty and little imperfections that film photography brings - We are still seeing the rise of film photography, with brides wanting to add second shooters that document just on film so they get a really good amount of film photography from their day on a 35mm film or even Medium format.

Artistic Cakes

The wedding cake trends I anticipate for 2025 include lots of piped flowers, fun sculptural shapes with multiple tiers and definitely some elegant and extravagant fondant moments.

Basque Waists

While drop waist wedding dresses are definitely set to shine in 2025, there's another exciting trend making its way into the spotlight: basque waist gowns. “I feel 2025 is going to be all about the basque waist. It creates a flattering waistline and a high fashion moment, and perfectly pairs with a voluminous ball gown silhouette that we're also loving for 2025 brides," points out Sarah McCarthy, director of luxury Australian bridal boutique Sphere Bridal Gallery.
